Finished custom illuminated aluminum sign fabricated for Birdies & Bourbon Lake House in Kentucky

We recently completed this custom illuminated aluminum sign for Birdies & Bourbon Lake House. The project combined aluminum fabrication, architectural metalwork, powder coating, acrylic, and LED lighting to create a durable outdoor sign with a clean appearance during the day and excellent visibility at night.

Fabricating the Aluminum Sign

The lettering, border, and tropical leaf graphics were cut directly into the aluminum face. The outer edges were formed, and the corners were fitted and welded to create a rigid sign cabinet with room for the lighting and electrical components.

After fabrication, the aluminum was finished in black powder coat for durability and strong contrast.

Acrylic Backing and LED Lighting

White translucent acrylic was installed behind the cut design, followed by low-voltage LED lighting inside the cabinet. A photocell allows the sign to turn on automatically after dark.

We also built a removable aluminum back panel so the power supply, wiring, and lighting remain protected but accessible for future service.

Custom Architectural Fabrication in Corbin, Kentucky

This project is a good example of architectural fabrication that goes beyond a basic plasma-cut sign. It required custom metal cutting, forming, welding, finishing, acrylic installation, and electrical-component mounting.
